We select several local and national charities per year to be the recipients of this fund. So, next time you’re shopping with us, make sure you look out for ways to show your support.
Local Giving
For the last 6 years GGC have supported ‘Plant Sales’ for St Luke’s School and the Duke of Norfolk School in Glossop. We supply them with summer bedding plants, a selection of veg, hanging baskets and other planters.
The annual visit from Father Christmas in aid of Glossop Mountain Rescue continues to raise awareness for this worthy cause. It provides eagerly needed funds on the day and a smile on all the children’s faces. GGC donate all the presents, entry fee and staff time to facilitate the smooth running of this event.
We also support ‘Friends of Glossop Station’ by donating a Christmas tree each year for the station and assist them with plants for the trackside throughout the year.
In the past we have also supported Willow Wood Hospice and Blythe House Hospice.
National Giving
Last year the team at GGC took part in the Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning. This is an annual event run by Macmillan Cancer. The staff and customers on the day raised a fantastic £325.50
